Scuba Anyone ... Diving Stories
Protecting the aquatic environment
- Be an ECO Tourist do not confine your diving to sites highlighted
in brochures support protected area such as parks, reserves and sanctuaries
Maybe choose an ECO-operator or ECO-resort.
- Respect the underwater cultural heritage, as divers we have access
to dive sites that are part of our maritime or cultural heritage we
should help preserve these sites for future generations by obeying local
laws and treating wrecks with respect.
- Report environmental disturbances, as divers we are in a unique position
to monitor the waterways , lakes and coastal areas .So if you notice
a strange substance or objects in the water report them to the local
authority.
- Be a role model , set a good example in your own interactions with
the environment and other divers and non divers will follow suit
- Get involved , there are plenty of opportunities to show your support
of the aquatic environment like local beach clean up’s, surveys and
attend public hearings enroll on project aware courses, visit web sites.
Make diving fun and a family affair.
