Scuba Anyone ... Diving Sites ... The MaldivesKalughiriSited 40 minutes away from Athuruga you can find Kalughiri, a shoal reef that almost appears on the surface, repaired by the waves of the ocean that break on the reef not far of the Moofushi island. In the middle of the length of the reef, descending to the sandy bottom at around 30 meters, you will see some coral pinnacles with an innumerable quantity of glass fish and small red fish called “Anthias” that attract jackfish from the blue of the oceanic pass. Between the pinnacles you can usually find some groupers and stingrays trying to get some food moving the sand. You may also spot white tip sharks leopard sharks also known as zebra sharks that live in the area. Kalughiri is a dive with a sheltered spot in case of powerful currents as well and always generously gives pretty colours and emotions to divers. |
